Product Description
Product Introduction
Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic derived from Streptomyces erythreus, with a CAS number of 114-07-8 and a molecular weight of 733.93. It exhibits excellent antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Streptococcus viridans, Staphylococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis, Streptococcus pyogenes, Streptococcus spp., Streptococcus hemolyticus, Clostridium spp., etc. In addition, certain Gram-negative bacteria can also be inhibited by erythromycin to a certain extent. Erythromycin binds to bacterial polyribosomes to inhibit peptide chain elongation, thus exerting a bacteriostatic effect. It is effective against strains that are sensitive to erythromycin but resistant to penicillin. Erythromycin is commonly used for infections caused by penicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and for Staphylococcus aureus infections in patients allergic to penicillin.
The Erythromycin Solution (50 mg/mL) consists of erythromycin and absolute ethanol. It is sterilized by filtration and is intended exclusively for biological research purposes, not for clinical use.
