| Description | This ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of interleukin-13 (IL-13) in human samples, supporting research into Th2-mediated immune responses, allergic inflammation, and tissue fibrosis. Because circulating IL-13 is typically present at low picogram-per-milliliter concentrations and rises modestly even during active disease, precise detection within a narrow dynamic window is essential for meaningful data. Detection Range: The 3.12–200 pg/mL range aligns with reported IL-13 levels in human serum and plasma, which rarely exceed low double-digit pg/mL at baseline and may reach the tens-of-pg/mL range during allergic exacerbation or helminth infection. Most samples can be run neat or with minimal dilution, simplifying assay planning for clinical and translational studies. Sensitivity: At 0.78 pg/mL, the kit resolves the characteristically low basal IL-13 concentrations found in healthy donor serum and unstimulated cell culture supernates, where this cytokine often falls below 5 pg/mL. Sample Compatibility: Validation across serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, and cell culture supernates enables researchers to correlate systemic IL-13 levels with local tissue expression and in vitro Th2 polarization or mast cell stimulation outputs within a single assay platform. Assay Efficiency: The 50–100 µL sample volume and 1–5 hour protocol accommodate limited-volume specimens from bronchoscopy lavage fractions or pediatric blood draws while supporting same-day results. This kit is directly applicable to studies of asthma pathogenesis, atopic dermatitis biomarker profiling, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. |
