| Description | The product CSB-E04662h is a sandwich ELISA kit developed to measure concentrations of human macrophage inflammatory protein-1α (MIP-1α) in serum, plasma, or tissue homogenates. This assay uses the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique in combination with the enzyme-substrate chromogenic reaction to quantify the analyte in the sample. The color develops positively to the amount of MIP-1α in samples. The color intensity is measured at 450 nm via a microplate reader. MIP-1α, also called CCL3, is a pro-inflammatory chemokine expressed constitutively in the bone marrow, including by osteoblasts. It is induced during inflammation. CCL3 is a chemotactic cytokine crucial for inflammatory cell recruitment in homeostatic and pathological conditions. In addition to its proinflammatory activities, CCL3 negatively regulates the proliferation of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells (HSPCs) in the bone marrow (BM). CCL3 and its receptor CCR1 are reported to mediate the bone remodeling that occurs during orthodontic tooth movement, and may also regulate osteoclastogenesis in osteomyelitis. CCL3 might stimulate cancer progression by promoting leukocyte accumulation, angiogenesis, and tumor growth. |
