| Description | This ELISA kit provides quantitative measurement of IFNB1 (interferon-beta 1) in mouse serum and plasma, supporting research into type I interferon-mediated innate and adaptive immune responses. Because IFNB1 is often produced in rapid, transient bursts following viral challenge or TLR activation — and circulates at low picomolar concentrations — accurate detection demands both sufficient sensitivity and a well-matched dynamic range. Detection Range: The 31.2–1000 pg/mL range spans the concentrations typically observed in mouse plasma during acute viral infection or poly(I:C) stimulation, where systemic IFNB1 can rise from undetectable baseline levels into the hundreds of pg/mL. Most in vivo samples will fall within range without dilution, though peak responses in certain models may require modest sample dilution. Sensitivity: At 15.6 pg/mL, the kit can detect the low circulating IFNB1 levels present during early infection, subthreshold innate immune priming, or in autoimmune models where chronic low-grade interferon signatures drive pathology. Sample Compatibility: Validation in both serum and plasma allows researchers to align sample collection with pharmacokinetic studies, longitudinal bleeding protocols, or anticoagulant-dependent downstream assays without sacrificing IFNB1 quantification accuracy. Assay Efficiency: The 1–5 hour protocol and 50–100 µL sample volume accommodate serial sampling from individual mice — critical given the small blood volumes and narrow kinetic windows characteristic of IFNB1 response studies. This kit is well suited for investigating antiviral innate immunity, interferon-driven autoimmune pathogenesis such as lupus-like disease, and evaluation of TLR or STING agonist therapeutics. |
