Product Description
The buffer system of Leibovitz's L-15 medium contains phosphate and free base amino acids and does not contain the traditional sodium bicarbonate buffer system. Meanwhile, D-galactose and sodium pyruvate are used as carbon sources instead of glucose to prevent the generation of acidic metabolic by-products, which is helpful to maintain the stability of culture solution pH, and it is suitable for the cell culture in the equilibrium environment of non-CO2 system. Leibovitz's L-15 is suitable for the culture of monkey kidney cells and HEP-2, the isolation of primary cells (e.g., embryos and adult tissues), the culture of a variety of viruses, and the culture of neurons.
This product contains many types of amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts and other components required for cell culture, does not contain proteins, lipids or growth factors, need to be added according to the cell requirements of serum or serum-free additives to use. This product is sterilized by 0.1 μm membrane filtration, pH 7.0-7.4, containing 900 mg/L (5.0 mM) D-Galactose, 300 mg/L (2.05 mM) L-Alanyl-L-Glutamine, 550 mg/L (5.0 mM) Sodium Pyruvate, with phenol red indicator. Does not contain sodium bicarbonate or glucose. See product formulation on website for specific ingredients.
Storage and Shipping Conditions
Ship at room temperature; Store away from light at 2-8℃, valid for 12 months.
Note
1. This product has been filtered to remove bacteria, use should pay attention to the aseptic operation, avoid contamination.
2. This product is not suitable for CO2 environment. In CO2 incubator, it will cause the pH of the culture solution to decrease and the culture solution to turn yellow, which will seriously affect the cell growth.
3. Avoid freezing the culture medium. Freezing may cause precipitation and precipitation of nutrients, which may not be completely dissolved after rewarming, affecting the cell culture effect. In addition, when the medium is stored at 2-8℃, do not store it completely close to the inner wall of the refrigerator to prevent the medium from freezing due to localized low temperature.
