Synonyms: CD79a is mainly expressed on the surface of mature plasma cells, CD79a(mb-1) and CD79b(B29) constitute the heterodimer, and form the B-cell antigen receptor with membrane bound immunoglobulin by non-covalent bond. 97% of B-cell lymphomas expressed CD79a antigen. In cases where CD20 positivity disappeared after anti-CD20 treatment, CD79a remained positive. CD79a is used in combination with other antibodies for the diagnosis of B-cell lymphoma.
