Synonyms: CK8 & CK18 expresses the single layer epithelium or glandular epithelium in tumor or normal tissues, such as thyroid, mammary gland, gastrointestinal tract and respiratory tract epithelium. It is expressed in adenocarcinoma and most cases of non-keratinized squamous cell carcinoma, but not in keratinized squamous cell carcinoma. Therefore, the antibody is usually used in combination with CK5 & CK6 in the differentiation of adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma.
