TransScript® IV Reverse Transcriptase is a modified M-MLV reverse transcriptase. The product uses RNA as a template to synthesize first-strand cDNA while simultaneously removing residual genomic DNA from the RNA template within the same reaction system. After the reaction, heating at 85°C for 2 minutes can inactivate both the TransScript® IV RT/RI Enzyme Mix and the gDNA Remover simultaneously. The enzyme exhibits an optimal reaction temperature of 50°C and possesses ultra-high thermal stability. The product contains a blue tracking dye for visualizing pipetting and can be used in combination with the PerfectStart® IV Visual Green qPCR SuperMix (Cat. No. AQ641) to enable full visual tracking throughout both the reverse transcription and qPCR amplification workflow.
Features
Wide range of applications: severely degraded RNA can be used as a template for reverse transcription.
Strong inhibitor tolerance: excellent resistance to inhibitors remaining in RNA.
Fast reaction speed: only 10 minutes for reverse transcription and gDNA removal.
High processivity: synthesis length can be up to 20 kb.
High thermal stability: reaction temperature 42°C–65°C.
High sensitivity: high detection rate for trace RNA.
After the reaction, TransScript® IV RT/RI Enzyme Mix and gDNA Remover are inactivated simultaneously. Compared with the traditional method of pretreating RNA with DNase I, it avoids the damage of RNA after treatment by DNase I.
Blue tracking dye for pipetting visualization.
Applications
High-copy number and low-copy number gene detection.
High GC or complex secondary structure RNA template.
For difficult-to-handle RNA sample: degraded RNA template and RNA template containing RT enzyme inhibitors.
cDNA library construction, primer extension, 3’ and 5’ RACE.
