Product Description
Product Description
Ampicillin (Amp), also known as Amplicillin, is a β-lactam antibiotic that inhibits cell wall synthesis by interfering with the cross-linking of peptidoglycan. It belongs to the aminopenicillin class of antibiotics and is clinically used for the treatment of various bacterial infections. Ampicillin Sodium is the sodium salt form of ampicillin, with a CAS number of 69-52-3.
Ampicillin Sodium Solution (50 mg/mL) is prepared by dissolving ampicillin sodium in deionized water and filtering the solution through a 0.22 μm filter. This solution is commonly used in molecular experiments for preparing LB media or LB plates containing ampicillin.
Usage Instructions
1. Thaw the solution completely and mix thoroughly before use.
2. The general working concentration of this solution is 100 μg/mL. Add 100 μL of the solution to 100 mL of medium (a 1:1000 ratio) and mix well. For plate preparation, ensure the medium has cooled to a non-scalding temperature before adding the solution.
Precautions
1. Perform aseptic operation to avoid contamination.
2. If only a small volume is needed for each use, aliquot the solution before use is recommended.
3. For your safety and health, wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation.
4. Tis product is for research use only and is prohibited for any other purposes.
