| Description | Cartilage intermediate layer protein 1 (CILP) is a secreted glycoprotein found primarily in the intermediate layer of articular cartilage. This protein functions as a nucleotide pyrophosphohydrolase and plays an important role in cartilage matrix organization and maintenance. CILP has been linked to various cartilage-related disorders and osteoarthritis pathogenesis, making it a significant biomarker for joint health research. Its expression levels can offer insights into cartilage metabolism and degenerative processes affecting joint function. The Human Cartilage intermediate layer protein 1 ELISA kit (CSB-EL005437HU) uses a quantitative sandwich measurement principle for detecting CILP in human samples. This assay works with serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates with a detection range of 93.75 pg/mL to 6000 pg/mL and shows a sensitivity of 23.4 pg/mL. The protocol requires 50-100 μL sample volume and can be completed within 1-5 hours, with detection performed at 450 nm wavelength. Application Examples Note: The following application examples are drawn from a selection of publications citing this product. For additional applications, please refer to the full list of references in the "Citations" section. This ELISA kit has been used in cardiovascular disease research to measure circulating cartilage intermediate layer protein levels in patient populations. Studies have applied the kit to examine biomarker associations in heart failure patients and to compare protein concentrations between different clinical groups. The kit has also been used in dermatological research examining hidradenitis suppurativa patients. • Cardiovascular research: Measuring circulating biomarker levels in heart failure patients with reduced ejection fraction and comparison with control populations • Clinical biomarker studies: Examining protein concentration differences between patient groups and healthy individuals in cardiovascular disease contexts • Dermatological research: Measuring serum protein levels in hidradenitis suppurativa patients to explore disease-associated biomarkers • Comparative assay validation: Testing kit performance alongside other commercial immunoassays to establish measurement correlations and analytical reliability |
