Overview
This product is a thermosensitive alkaline phosphatase derived from a recombinant Escherichia coli strain carrying the PhoA gene. It catalyzes the dephosphorylation of 5' and 3' phosphate monoesters of DNA and RNA. In addition, thermosensitive alkaline phosphatase can hydrolyze ribonucleoside and deoxyribonucleoside triphosphates (NTPs and dNTPs). This product is mainly used for the dephosphorylation of DNA and RNA to prevent self-ligation of cloning vectors, preparation of 5'-end labeled templates, and removal of dNTPs and pyrophosphate from PCR products.
