Overview
The Mycoplasma Detector Kit is a specialized assay kit for the detection of mycoplasma contamination in cell cultures. It employs the fluorescent real-time PCR probe method to detect no fewer than 125 mycoplasma species. The kit covers 104 species of Mycoplasmas, including M. fermentans, M. hyorhinis, M. orale, M. arginini, M. gallisepticum, M. pneumoniae, and M. synoviae; 5 species of Acholeplasmas such as A. laidlawii; 3 species of Ureaplasmas including Ureaplasma urealyticum; and 13 species of Spiroplasmas. No cross-reactivity is observed with common environmental microorganisms, including Enterobacter, Enterococcus, Staphylococcus, Serratia, Salmonella, Lactobacillus, Candida, Aspergillus, and others. Two operating protocols are provided: direct amplification and DNA extraction.
The direct amplification method is simple and convenient, requiring no mycoplasma DNA extraction. Only 1 μL of cell culture supernatant and 1 μL of enzyme solution are added directly to the reaction mixture before instrumental detection. The entire assay can be completed within 1.5 hours. The extraction method maximizes detection of mycoplasma with extremely high sensitivity. For common mycoplasma species, including M. fermentans, M. hyorhinis, M. orale, M. arginini, M. agalactiae, M. bovis, and M. pulmonis, the limit of detection can reach 5 CFU/mL.
This product is suitable for various suspension and adherent cell lines, including CHO, Vero, NS0, SP2/0, Sf9, 293, HeLa, etc., and demonstrates broad compatibility with diverse culture media. It provides a simple, rapid, and reliable mycoplasma detection solution for biopharmaceutical companies, research institutes, and universities.
